INTERNSHIP IN POMPEU FABRA UNIVERSITY

“In my eighth semester, I decided to go to an internship at University Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. There I worked in the Audio Signal Processing Lab (ASPLab), which is within the Music Technology Group (MTG).

In the lab, we were a group of about ten people, half of them being Ph.D. students and the other half being teachers and researchers. During the time of my internship, the team was working on a music assessment tool that gave meaningful feedback to music students. My tasks there were to optimize these tools for the saxophone (which is the instrument I play) and help to develop the system.

In my opinion, the MTG is a great opportunity to work on things you like, since I was free to orient my work a little bit as I desired. There are several labs apart from the one I worked on, that work on very different things in the Sound and Music Computing field.”
