Salokin - a new visual programming language for sound design

ABTRACT

The aim of this software is giving the possibility to the user, without any particular proficiencies in programming, to design and modeling sounds by means of the combina- tion of elementary and complex units. Therefore, the con- cept of Salokin is similar to other software already avail- able such as Pure Data, Max/MSP, OpenMusic, Symbolic Sound Kyma and Native Instruments Reaktor [1]. As a matter of fact, they all offer a graphical user interface to manipulate block structures and generate music and sounds.
